I was recently passed some information on the opening of
the Viceroy Anguilla Residences developed by her husband's
company and designed by none other than the talented
Kelly Wearstler.
It is obvious that the site of these residences and resort
is absolutely amazing. There's a heated pool in the foreground
and the villa above looks to be right ON the water. That is
amazing!
They unveiled the model the four-bedroom villa on Barnes
Bay on March 15. They are offering a limited collection of
beachfront and blufftop villas, townhomes and resort
residences. In total, there will be 140 residences and 45
of them will be available for purchase in the final release.
All 140 of the residences come fully furnished and designed
by Kelly Wearstler. Here's a quote from her on the design
of the villas.
“Overall, I was inspired by the tranquil beach setting,”
comments Wearstler of her work at Viceroy Anguilla. “In
designing the property, we used textiles and techniques
from all over the world, including hand-carved wood
pieces from Asia, hammered metalwork from India and
beaded artwork from Africa which offer a visual contrast
with the modern architecture.”

While we are on the subject or resorts, how's this Chilean
resort who owns the largest swimming pool in the world!
It is more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, has a
115 ft deep end and holds 66 million gallons of water. The
Guinness Book of Records named the vast pool beside the
sea in Chile as the biggest in the world.
It took five years to build, cost nearly $1 billion and the
annual maintenance bill will be $2 million. Can you imagine
that?! A whopping $2 million USD a year just to maintain
it! That is some serious cash.
The man-made saltwater lagoon has been attracting huge
crowds to the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo, on
Chile's southern coast, since it opened last month.
It dwarfs the world's second biggest pool, the Orthlieb --
nicknamed the Big Splash -- in Morocco, which is a mere
150 yards long and 100 yards wide. To give you an idea
of the scale we are talking about, an Olympic size pool
measures some 50 yards by 25 yards. Chile 's monster
pool uses a computer-controlled suction and filtration
system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation,
drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it
out at the other. <-- That is one neat system!

The sun warms the water to 26c, nine degrees warmer
than the adjoining sea. Chilean biochemist Fernando
Fischmann, whose Crystal Lagoons Corporation designed
the pool was quoted saying 'As long as we have access to
unlimited seawater, we can make it work, and it causes
no damage to the ocean.'
You can see from this photo the scale of the pool as

Yowzers is this thing Humongous!!
