Info Post
The chair above is so romantic. It really fits perfectly
in today's home - a cottage home with heavy shabby
chic references.

Lots of whites and creams to create an
airy feeling. A huge gorgeous white pouf
for a coffee table. What makes this home
work for me - is that it's not over the top
Shabby Chic. It has enough touches of
Shabby Chic to blend into a more modern
and cozy cottage style so as to not be overly
themed. The color palette is also very soothing.

What a beautiful sofa.

I love the long strips of wood used for the
white flooring. Perfect for a shabby chic home.

The hexagonal tiles are reminiscent of vintage
tiles from a past era. I think they are timeless
though.

Open shelving in the kitchen to display
pretty bottles, containers and cups.

You probably recognize this kitchen from Monday's
post on Rustic and Cottage Kitchens. It actually
belongs this home and very cleverly designed with
all of the modern amenities while retaining the shabby
chic feel.

I really adore the porch area. The porch is
enclosed but airy and has a really homey
feel. Perfect for afternoon tea don't you think?

For Shabby Chic inspirations, I look to
Rachel Ashwell who actually coined the
term "Shabby Chic" and made it into a well
known term and established decorative
style.
